Friday, November 22, 2024, C.U.R.E.D. volunteers, Dr. Natalie Kennedy and Ms. Linda Gillon met six smiling, enthusiastic, inquisitive, attentive first grader scholars for storytelling at Bible Truth Ministries Academy. Ms. Linda first read the book Thunder Rose (she dressed the part, too) written by Jerdine Nolan. Next up, Dr. Kennedy read a book she had written, The Shadow Cat, accompanied by a coloring exercise on paper where each scholar drew what Dr. Kennedy 's story meant to them. The session ended with Ms Linda reading Snowy Day by Ezra Jack Keats, which included a lively discussion about snow. It was a wonderful day of reading for everyone involved.
